How to apply for funding

To ensure that the most effective use is made of charitable funds, all applications are peer reviewed. However, without compromising scientific standards, we try to work in a more flexible and interactive fashion than the larger and publicly-funded sources of research support are able to do.

Please refer to information on What We Fund before completing an application, and to download the relevant application form.

All applications (as a single word document) must be submitted by email to research@deafnessresearch.org.uk  and one signed hard copy posted to the office address on the form.

Small projects (<£15,000), travel grants, equipment, meeting sponsorship applications may be submitted at any time.  Following peer review, these applications will be considered at the next quarterly committee meeting.  Meetings are generally held on the last Thursday of January, April, July and October.

PhD Studentships, vacation scholarships, Pauline Ashley Prize, ARO travel schemes, Fulbright-Deafness Research UK Fellowships are considered by an annual competitive rounds and will be advertised on this website and via Earmail and other grant information sites.

Please contact research@deafnessresearch.org.uk or telephone 020 7164 2290 for further information.
