Top tips for helping your child through glue ear

Is your child having problems with language and communication, or with speech? Are they behaving unusually or having difficulties in school?

If so, they might have glue ear, which affects four out of five children to some degree before they reach four years of age.

All children with glue ear will benefit if parents and teachers are aware of the problem and know what steps they can take to minimise its effects.

Deafness Research UK, together with some of the UK's leading glue ear researchers, has produced a list of tips for parents to help minimise the impact of glue ear.
