Specsavers Hearing Centres

Deafness Research UK has teamed up with Specsavers Hearing Centres to raise awareness of hearing issues.

Specsavers are a natural partner for us because they share many of the same aims. They want to raise awareness of hearing loss among the public and help encourage people who suspect they have a problem to seek help. They share our belief that no one should have to live with hearing loss and the problems it brings.

Hearing is just as important as sight but many people don't realise how precious it is until they start to lose it. We want to make people more aware of how important their ears are and how you can protect them against damage. Specsavers are helping us reach out with this message and has pledged to raise at least £100,000 to support the vital work the charity does.

Their donation will help us continue to raise awareness of hearing loss and support the highest quality research. Our work with Specsavers will also enable us to make many more people aware of the need to look after their hearing than would otherwise have been possible, and reach many more people with our information and advice.

Deafness Research UK is delighted to work in partnership with Specsavers to raise awareness of hearing loss and the problems it brings. However, as an independent and impartial medical research charity, we do not endorse any individual brand of hearing aid or hearcare provider. We support other providers of hearing aids, both in the private and NHS sectors.

People can obtain general guidance about the types of hearing aids that are available, both on the NHS or privately, and explanations about how they work and the relative merits of different types, from the charity's Information Service and this website.
