Recycle to help defeat deafness

Collect your used printer cartridges and old mobile phones, and raise money for Deafness Research UK.

We have teamed up with The Recycling Appeal, to offer you a scheme that will help boost our fundraising - every time you donate a cartridge or mobile phone, Deafness Research UK will receive a cash donation ranging from 25p, up to £15, from the resale of refilled cartridges and refurbished phones.

Not only will you be helping Deafness Research UK by setting up a collection, but you will also be doing your bit for environment. Every year 30 million printer cartridges are disposed of, which contributes to over 300,000 tonnes of largely non-biodegradable waste, and the corrosion of mobile phones and batteries in landfill sites, causes toxic chemicals to leak into the soil.

In the last 10 years it is estimated that printer cartridges worth around £500,000,000 were dumped in landfill sites. These could have been used to provide much-needed money for worthwhile causes such as Deafness Research UK!

The majority of cartridges sold in the UK are accepted for recycling, put please note that the following are not accepted: Epson inkjet cartridges, ribbon cartridges, toner bottles, broken cartridges, mobile phone cases, analogue phones, pagers or other electronic equipment.

If you are interested in collecting for Deafness Research UK, please phone 020 7833 1733 or email .

Please mention this scheme at work and tell your friends and family about it. Start collecting today and help us improve the quality of life of the 9 million hearing impaired people in the UK.
