Professor Stuart Gatehouse

We are greatly saddened to learn of the death of Professor Stuart Gatehouse and would like to extend our sincere condolences to his wife, Anna, and family, and also to his colleagues at the MRC Institute of Hearing Research (IHR).

Stuart supported the charity over many years, giving his expertise and advice generously. He was Assistant Director of IHR, Head of the Scottish Section and a senior scientist at the Institute for more than 25 years.

His expertise lay in gaining a better understanding of auditory disabilities and in recent years, he had made significant contributions to hearing-aid fitting and processing features, aspects of binaural hearing and outcomes research.
