Deafness Research UK's PhD studentship scheme is designed to encourage new and highly qualified graduates to embark on a career in deafness, hearing or tinnitus research in the UK.
DR-UK is delighted to announce that we are now accepting applications for PhD studentships for 2012. The maximum value of the studentship award is £70,000 (£75,000 including London salary weighting) over three years.

Applications are invited in the following priority areas:
- Taking action on tinnitus Research into causes, therapies, treatments and cures
- Ensuring children reach their full potential Improving benefit from cochlear implants and research relevant to protecting children's hearing
- Ending isolation and communication barriers in the elderly Improving benefit from hearing aids including fitting, design and functioning
- Preventing hearing loss for future generations Research into the causes and biological basis of hearing loss; approaches to preventing deafness or restoring hearing using genetic, cell or drug based therapies.
