Managing tinnitus
Preventing, treating, and adapting to head noise.
Many of us will at some point experience a buzzing, hissing or ringing in the ears, especially after exposure to loud noise.
This is a temporary problem for most people, but for nearly five million people in the UK these noises, known as tinnitus, can be distressing and permanent, causing acute anxiety and distress.
This leaflet explains the causes of tinnitus, what treatments are available, and how to lessen its impact on your life. And brings you up to date with the latest research.
