The AMRC is a membership organisation of the leading medical and health research charities in the UK, which supports the sector’s effectiveness and advances medical research by developing best practice, providing information and guidance, improving public dialogue about research and science, and influencing government.

AMRC members are committed to ensuring that they support the most effective research in the right environment and that the researchers they fund use good practice in their working methods.

Members of AMRC all use peer review to select the projects that they wish to fund. More information on the process of peer review is available in AMRC's guidelines on the use of peer review, which is available to download from their website.

AMRC has also produced 'Guidelines on Good Research Practice' as an aid to researchers regarding the expectations of member charities which fund their research.
