Deafness Research UK is the country's medical research and education charity for deaf and hard of hearing people. (For more information, please click here)
We are delighted to have had our Radio 4 appeal read by Sir George Martin. Click here to listen to the appeal online.
Sir George Martin is a music industry legend, perhaps best known for producing The Beatles. He has worked with an astonishing array of talented artists – click here to learn more about his amazing career. Sir George suffers from progressive hearing loss and tinnitus due to a combination of noise-induced hearing damage and age-related wear and tear. He wears two hearing aids and is proud to be Vice-President of Deafness Research UK. To hear Sir George speak about the moment he knew he'd lost his hearing, please see the March 13th entry on the Radio 4 Blog.
During the appeal, Sir George delivers the following important hearing health messages. Please click on each message to learn more.
- Remember your hearing is delicate so protect it from loud noise.
- Have your hearing tested right away if you notice any problems. Unfortunately, if you leave it you’ll lose it.
